Integrate your web apps

We are currently in development of the Robin Software Development Kit (rSDK) which will provide members of our developers program early access to integrate their web apps with our browser. Below is a preview of some of the features that will become available to you as a developer. We are taking a staged approach to releasing these features to ensure that the experience is both secure and stable for customers.

  • Smart Bar™ Web App Integration

The initial version of Smart Bar apps for developers will allow you to associate key URLs into the primary icon and each individual feature icon. The SDK provides a template to prepare your custom icon and select from hundreds of pre-made feature icons. Each URL can act as core navigation for your app allowing you to forgo the need for displayed navigation within each page.

  • Custom Menu Item Integration

We've establish two types of menu items that can be added directly to the address bar. The first is a simple menu that can contain links to various pages or address based commands. The second is the ability to execute javascript when a menu item is tapped. Just as you would with a bookmarklet with alternative browsers. Developers will get to choose if it is only displayed within their app or universally.

  • 1-Click Sign-up & Subscription Manager

The web has been plagued with required forms fields when signing up for websites, apps and services. While auto-fill is helpful it hasn't made the process of signing up for services any easier. Smart Bar apps provide us with a 1-click process for adding an app to your browser. When we combine this with an API for developers to integrate their "Best Offer" with subscription services we can provide a 1-click sign-up and subscription manage just like you can with other software.

  • iCloud Synchronization & Web Services

Apple's new iCloud seamless synchronization across Macs, iPhones and iPads is coming soon. We already testing these new services with Robin. Our goals is store everything in the cloud allow for complete synchronization between devices. This combined with tailored web applications allow for new ways to manage your data and services from anywhere on any device.

  • Web Application Desktop Notifications

Plug-ins like Growl and Grease Monkey have served the need to bring desktop and mobile notifications to the desktop. As a third party they are rather limited in terms of what they can do. Most people find a way to turn them off. We believe there is a better way to bring notifications from your favorite web apps to your desktop. Imagine if your web apps could talk to the browser directly so you could deliver richer, integrated and more beneficial notifications to the user.

  • Social Identity & Privacy Management

We are exploring new ways to manage what types of data that gets shared, with what services and when. We think you'll be blown away with how much of your personal information is just given away to the websites you visit. Our browser can do a better job of helping you understand and manage your data with integrated management tools and interface that will help protect from identity theft.
